Dodeca-System Creator Community

Play Your Way

We at Dodeca System Games understand that as much fun as it is to play a game, sometimes you just want to make your own rules for it. From changing little items, to ful-blown house rules that completely change aspects of the gaming experience, we've all gone into a game and said, "this was great, but you know what would make it better...?"

Instead of saying, "you need to play this way," we embrace the potential for tweaks and changes. That's why we started our Creator Community to encourage taking apart our games and finding new ways to play them.

Open Source Rules, 1.5 Edition

From the beginning, the creators of There's a Game in this Book wanted to make a system that was as open-ended as possible. The game was designed to be torn apart, reassembled, and made to do anything the GOD and players could devise. In the spirit of that concept, and to encourage really tearing apart the core rules, Dodeca System Games is proud to host the 1.5 Edition Open Source Rules [PDF]. With these guidelines, and the accompanying blank character sheets, a GOD well versed in There's a Game in this Book can completely tear into the system to rebuild it any way they want.

Open Source Rules, 1.0 Edition

Fans of the classic 1.0 edition of the game will be pleased to note that Dodeca System Games will continue to host the original 1.0 edition of the Dodeca System Open Source Rules [PDF]. Whatever your play style and preferences, we want to provide Open Source guidelines you can use to make your world.
